There is something distinctive about a school where a Year 1 child and a Year 12 student both feel genuinely at home. That is what we are building at St Francis Catholic College, and it shapes everything about our approach to education.
"Open Minds, Open Hearts" is more than a motto; it is the expectation we hold for every student and staff member, every day. It invites us to remain curious, to be generous with one another, and to stay open to where learning might lead. When young people embrace that spirit, the gifts God has given them truly have room to grow.
That is the standard we set ourselves, and it is reflected in everything from our classrooms to our community. Built on the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice, we are committed to providing a quality Catholic education in a safe and nurturing environment. We encourage students to grow into the fullness of their humanity in a learning environment where they learn to become respectful, courteous, compassionate, honest, and reliable in all their dealings with their family, peers, and life beyond school. Guided by our four touchstones: Liberating Education, Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community, and Justice and Solidarity, our commitment to ecological sustainability flows naturally from the example of St Francis of Assisi himself.
Our K-12 structure is a genuine point of difference. The difficult transition from primary to high school, which many families dread, is far less pronounced here. Siblings stay together, friendships endure, and students benefit from specialist teachers and facilities across all thirteen years. Within this continuum, our dedicated Middle Years Learning model provides the specific structure and belonging students need to thrive during those critical years. As we celebrate our tenth year as a College, we are deeply proud of this sense of continuity.
