Catholic Celebrations

Mass, Liturgies, and Retreats

We gather as a faith community to celebrate the Eucharist and mark the sacred seasons of the Church year.

Our liturgical life is the spiritual cornerstone of the College.

Our College Masses

  • Opening School Mass: We begin our academic year by calling upon the Holy Spirit to guide our learning and strengthen our community bonds.
  • Blessed Edmund Rice Founder’s Day Mass: A cornerstone of our identity, we celebrate the legacy of Edmund Rice and our commitment to justice, solidarity, and education for all.
  • St Francis of Assisi Feast Day Mass: Reflecting on the life of St Francis, we gather to celebrate our stewardship of creation and our mission to be instruments of peace.
  • Year 12 Graduation Mass: A significant rite of passage where we bless our departing seniors, thanking God for their journey and praying for their future paths.
  • End of Year Mass: A final gathering to offer gratitude for the blessings of the past year and to look forward with hope to the season of Advent.

Sacred Liturgies & Seasons

  • Ash Wednesday: We mark the beginning of Lent as a community, receiving ashes as a sign of our commitment to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
  • Holy Week Liturgies: Through solemn prayer and reflection, we walk the path of Christ’s Passion, preparing our hearts for the joy of the Resurrection.
  • Feast of the Assumption: We honour Mary, the Mother of God, celebrating her transition into heaven and her role as a model of faith and "yes" to God's call.
