Extension & Enrichment

At St Francis Catholic College, we believe in serving the needs of each individual learner by providing teaching and learning experiences both within and beyond the classroom that are authentic, relevant, dynamic and creative. The extension and enrichment opportunities offered endeavour to ensure the needs of all learners are met.

St Francis Catholic College recognises that all students deserve to have their academic needs met. The Collegel aims to provide quality whole school enrichment for students of all ability levels through varied and rigorous classroom and co-curricular experiences. Therefore, all our students are provided an enriched learning environment. However, it is through our extension programs that learners of a high potential are identified, supported and extended within a challenging, creative and nurturing environment.

Our academic focus is to produce successful, holistic and lifelong learners that are creative and critical thinkers who will become responsible global citizens that will make an outstanding impact in their community beyond St Francis Catholic College.

The QUBE Project

Adults are not the only members of the community who can make a difference. Stories of kids taking steps to make a positive difference in the world are all around us! Innovation and invention have allowed us to save lives, communicate across oceans and reach outer space. From the humble roll of duct tape to the algorithms of artificial intelligence, inventions have led to beneficial changes that have shaped the way we view the world.

The cube is a symbol of stability and permanence, of geometric perfection. It represents the final stage of a cycle of immobility, it can be seen as the truth, because it looks the same from any perspective. The QUBE Project allows an opportunity for young students to take on the role of change agents and explore how they can meet their civic responsibilities. It allows them to search for truth through questioning, understanding, building and engaging. Through the QUBE Project students are invited to be a part of the next generation of inventors to make a positive impact on the world.
